Inspection systems

We handle all kinds of precision inspection.

Optical microscopy

We use many microscopes to carry out product inspection.

Stereoscopic microscopy

Stereoscopic microscopy

The inspection magnification ranges from several to 60 times magnification, and we mainly inspect and check parts to ensure they have no scratches, and to examine details of part appearance.
The wide distance between the object being observed and the lens makes it possible to perform precision inspection safely.

Stereoscopic microscopy

Measurement microscopy

Even among optical microscopes, this is a type that is capable of measuring dimensions. The inspection magnification ranges from x50 to 1000, and the dimensions can be accurately measured up to a resolution of approximately 0.5 μm. This type of microscopy is mainly used for performing product dimension inspection and visual inspection.

Image dimension measuring instrument

Image dimension measuring instrument

This measuring instrument is capable of measuring the dimensions of many locations at once simply by pressing a button after placing the object to be observed on the stage.
Although small lot products, such as prototypes, may be accurately measured using the above measurement microscopy, it is an efficient measuring instrument for mass-produced products or when necessary to repeat a prescribed measurement method.

Scanning electron microscope

Scanning electron microscope

For products that are difficult to be inspected with an optical microscope, we carry out inspection at higher magnifications. We are used to working with scanning electron microscopes (SEM) because we manufacture components for them. Our electron microscope is equipped with EDX (Energy Dispersive X-Ray Analysis), allowing us to perform elemental analysis. With EDX, we are able to analyze characteristic X-rays detected from material components and contamination (foreign matter) adhering to parts.

Vacuum leak inspection

Vacuum leak inspection

Even among vacuum components, there are those that require shielding between the air and vacuum, and so it is necessary to carry out a vacuum leak inspection.
At Daiwa, we use a He leak detector to check for vacuum leaks.
